Dr. Osama Alswailem, MD, MA

Dr. Osama Al-Swailem is Chief Medical Information Officer and Director of Medical and Clinical Informatics at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Swailem has comprised nearly twenty years of clinical practice, health care informatics, and leadership experience in the Middle East and in the United States.
He is a board-certified family medicine physician and serves as an Assistant Professor of Medical Informatics at the Al-Faisal University College of Medicine. Dr. Al-Swailem has served as past Chairman of the Corporate EMR Implementation and Clinical Decision Support Committees.
Dr. Al-Swailem received his undergraduate degree from King Saudi University and completed his medical training and residency from the prestigious King Saud University College of Medicine. He finished a post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Informatics at Columbia University in New York.
Dr. Al-Swailem is a co-author of HIMSS' 2009 Book of the Year, Developing a Data Warehouse for the Healthcare Enterprise: Lessons from the Trenches.
