Biography

Ramadan has graduated from royal college of surgeons in Ireland in medicine in 2001. He started his career in UAE as a junior doctor managing patients and soon he travelled back to UK to continue his postgraduate studies in Queen's Marry University; he applied for degree of masters in gastroenterology for total duration of one year. During his studies in masters, he was exposed to work in clinical governance unit. He found himself attached to that specialty which serves the patients in broader terms. After achieving the degree, he went back to UAE and worked as a gastroenterologist with the interest of establishing this unit in Dubai. After one year and half, he succeeded to establish the office and was assigned to be the head of clinical governance office. The Clinical governance deals with three major issues related to the medical field across Dubai; namely medical complaints, morbidity & mortality and clinical audit. With his continuous effort and support, the resistance was overcome and the first clinical governance office was firmly established; it is considered a major achievement in UAE in the field of medicine.

Recently he was assigned as the director health regulation in Ddubai Hhealth Aauthority; with the continuum of his previous responsibilities. This department would manage all health regulation components including inspection of healthcare facilities, registration of facilities and professionals, clinical governance activities and customer care across Dubai in both governmental and private sectors, the department also will be responsible for writing all polices and standards in healthcare and update them continously.

Biography

Khawla Sultan Lootah is IT Assistant Director & Head of Corporate Application Section in Dubai Health Authority. She is a key strategic IT Leader and played an important role in developing the IT Department in DHA. She successfully managed several IT Projects (ERP Solutions, Sheryan, DHA Portal, Document & Content Management, Online Services & Dubai eGovernment Initiatives, DHA mobile solutions and many others) in the Health Industry since 1999. Prior to that she started her career as a Software Engineer in Emirates Airlines and participated in successful projects in the Airline Industry. She graduated as Computer & Electronics Systems Engineer from Strathclyde University in Scotland.
