Thomas Boillat is an Assistant Professor in Healthcare Innovation and Technologies at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). His research focuses on the design and evaluation of solutions to improve medical outcomes in general and to reduce medical errors in particular. He uses mixed-method approaches, where qualitative aspects are informed via observations, interviews and surveys, and quantitative aspects via the measurements of uses and performance.
Prior his current position, he was a senior researcher in computer science at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and at Stanford University. He earned his Master and PhD in Information Systems from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. Prior his doctorate, Thomasworked in different small and big companies as well as for the scientific consulate (swissnex) in Boston.
