A global physician leader, Dr. Manish Kohli is a champion of transforming healthcare and wellbeing through better access to quality care for individuals anywhere, anytime. He is passionate about health and care innovation through information and technology.
He is currently the President and CEO, Manish Kohli MD Advisory and Consulting Services and is also a Co-founder and Partner, Infinite Care Holdings FZ-LLC. He serves as Chairman, Global Board of Directors of Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a global, 100K member, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information and technology.
Dr. Kohli has extensive work experience in variety of international health care settings focusing on clinical care and use of health information technology in these settings to advance common goals of better access to quality and value-based care. He is a frequent invited speaker globally and has lectured extensively throughout Asia, Middle East, US, Europe and Australia.
Dr. Kohli’s previous roles have included serving as Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), Advocate Aurora Health; CMIO, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD); Director of Global Programs and Healthcare Informatics with Partners Harvard Medical International’s (PHMI); and, Medical Director of Clinical Information Systems at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians.
Over his career, he has been instrumental in many firsts, including serving as the:
i) first CMIO in Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. In that role at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) he was part of the leadership team that delivered the first, fully digital, HIMSS Stage 7 hospital in MENA region;
ii) Director, Global Programs, Partners Harvard Medical International where he served in a dual capacity as the CMIO of University Hospital and Head, Medical Informatics for Dubai Health Care City (DHCC). At DHCC he lead development of a digital health information reporting system that connected over 70 health care entities within DHCC;
iii) Medical Director, Clinical Information Systems at Johns Hopkins where he championed technology driven clinical practice transformation that included full functionality electronic medical record implementation including e-prescribing, CPOE, CDSS, clinical documentation, lab interface development and data migration from two disparate vendors- amongst a first in the US in early 2000s.
Dr. Kohli graduated from SIU School of Medicine, Springfield, IL USA and completed residency training in Family Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chicago, IL USA fellowship training in Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD and Faculty Development fellowship from Cook County Hospital. He holds a MPH in International Health and MBA in Medical Services Management from Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Kohli is a Fellow of HIMSS and is dually board certified. He is a Diplomate, American Board of Preventive Medicine- Clinical Informatics and also the American Board of Family Medicine.
He also serves as a member of Joint Commission International (JCI) Standards Advisory Panel, Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance (LMGA), American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM).
