Speaker’s Perspective

Clinical IT track

Shiraaz Joosub
Senior Information Architect
Sidra Medical & Research Center
Qatar Foundation, Doha, Qatar

Shiraaz Joosub’s session on  6 May – “Prime Source Vendor - Best of Cluster Implementation” - offers a look at directed sourcing using a single / prime source vendor. “This is a new-age approach to sourcing, design, configuring, implementing and making ready for operation a multitude of systems and solutions required for an ‘all digital hospital," said Mr. Joosub in an e-mail interview conducted by HIMSS MiddleEast09 Conference Newsletter. “It is specifically valuable where timelines for delivery are constrained and where the IT organization is not formally formed or mature enough to take the traditional sourcing approach.”

Mr. Joosub has spent six years in the Gulf implementing health information management systems (HIMS). He is now at Sidra Medical and Research Centre (SMRC), which was first announced in June 2004. The facility represents the vision of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned. Read the complete article.
